wc Jeff Tedford maybe getting let go....

Jeff Tedford has underachieved for the past 3-4 years and I am quite surprised he made it this far. If I recall they just extended his contract last year, so for them to get rid of this guy it will cost them.

Cal coach Jeff Tedford's fate could be decided Sunday - NCAAF - Sporting News

All that being said, Any idea who they bring in?

My guess is one of the following:

Gary Anderson of Utah State....Been pretty consistent and beat Utah this year.

Perhaps Chris Peterson. He is from Northern Cal and could really make an impact.

He wont get fired this year. It will cost too much to do so and they have to worry about the cost of the renovation they just finished.

I would say that Petersen is never leaving, however a jump to the Big East seems a bit desperate for BSU and they will have some ****ty road-trips. Anderson is a realistic candidate. Utah State has a powerful running game & I enjoy watching the Aggies (as much as I can enjoy mid-major football).

Tedford can really recruit. Cal gave him a lot of time & it must be painful for their AD to watch Stanford succeed in the Pac.

Petersen is destined to take over at Texas when Mack is done and will not leave before that, especially to Cal for Christ sakes.

Yeah, no chance Cal lands Peterson.

I know Im putting the cart before the horse here, but, should Chip Kelly leave Oregon for the NFL at the end of the season, would Oregon make a run at Peterson? Or do they have someone waiting in the wings at Oregon already?

Oregon is obviously more appealing, but I think it's more likely their OC who's been getting multiple looks for jobs is bumped up and they continue their option offense.
