ESPN Pac 12 Signing Day Wrap

Pac-12 signing day wrap - College Football Nation Blog - ESPN

Biggest disappointment: There are very few people who believe that Rich Rodriguez wasn't a great hire for Arizona. Zero, maybe. That said, the Wildcats didn't get a recruiting bump based on that perception. They finished at or near the bottom of most rankings of Pac-12 recruiting classes and didn't sign any recruits with at least a four-star rating from ESPN Recruiting.

We are getting hammered by ESPN. It does stink that with all of the coaching changes, we seemed to come out with the worst of it just for this year's recruiting. Obviously it had a lot to do with our new coach wasn't coaching last season and others were, although that doesn't explain Mora ....

I could care less about ESPN's rankings. We filled a lot of holes on the depth chart & next year's class will be a solid indicator of Arizona's progress. I think we'll have plenty of 4* kids.

the point needs to be made that RR and his staff have proven that they can develop 3* players. look at the rankings of WV when RR was there. very similar to this one. stoops always talked about developing players never could or even maximise high ranking talent just look at gronk for a perfect example

Gronk was rated very high by ESPN. he was a top150 recruit 4* and may have been the top TE in the class. He was no lower then 2.

Um what about Cason who was a 2* out of high school who went in the first round, won the Thorpe award and Gronk went high 2nd round after not playing a down that season. I can go on... I was never a Stoops guy, but he did do well with little talent. People need to stop saying this is a good class because we can develop it.

I thought Cason was highly rated. I may be thinking of Ross. I thought both were highly rated though.

I stand corrected. Rob was #5 TE, but still 4 stars.

yes stoops did do a good job with dbs . i thought stoops did a good job and am thankful that he got us to where we are now. but i think RR and his staff know how to win with these type of classes. plus this class was a rush-job. i am excited to see how these guys turn out

hey man im not this huge # and stats guy. but it seems to me that if gronk is killing it in the nfl it stands to reason that he could have more impactful while he was here. he had two good qbs to get him the ball so i have to put it on the staff.

I see what your saying, but he only played his 2nd year, sat out his junior and bolted. Look at this bio Player Bio: Rob Gronkowski - University of Arizona Wildcats Official Athletic Site
I will no disagree that someone should have monitored his injury more closely the spring before though.
