    Neal Cancels Visit

Davonte Neal will not take his official visit to Tucson this weekend in the wake of some family matters.

    Neal Cancels

I am kind of half and half on this one. I love what this kid brings to the table and I understand that this is a gigantic decision for him and his family to make. I was quick to write it off as another disappointment in recruiting, but with the whirlwind of high school recruiting, the magnitude of this decision and the addition of a family matter to the mix makes me sympathetic for Neal.

Not to mention that growing up in Arizona, he must have visited Tucson quite a bit and must be quite familiar with the facilities and such by now. He is anything but unfamiliar with the university and the program, with his former coach, best friends and RichRod in his ear about the U of A.

I caution Wildcat fans in not fretting or responding negatively to this news.

Everything you said is true, it just is better to get an official visit where the school can actually DO things for and with him as opposed to just taking a little tour around. I'm disappointed in that it would only help our chances, but I'm not viewing this as him eliminating us what-so-ever. He still may, and he may commit to us, but I don't believe this decision was made on a "lets eliminate a school" decision.

He's been to Arizona multiple times already. He doesn't need to take a visit.

Family first, hope his prior visits to campus and his teammates commitments were enough.
