Scottsdale Chaparral WR/DB Davonte' Neal will announce which college he will be attending on Feb. 21 at his Ahwatukee elementary school, Esperanza, his father Luke said today.

Luke Neal said he and his son hope to have the colleges down to three tonight. They will also discuss Arizona and Oklahoma some more.

Neal, 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, a PARADE All-American, is nominated for the Ed Doherty Award, which will be handed out during a luncheon on Friday to the state's best football player.

Scottsdale Saguaro RB D.J. Foster, who signed with Arizona State, also is nominated for the prestigous award.

Luke said he may drive his son to UA on Saturday for an unofficial visit.

He said Monday afternoon that they've not narrowed the list, although it appears Oklahoma may have come in too late to be a serious contender.

Arkansas, North Carolina, UA and Notre Dame all in the hunt.

Luke Neal said he hasn't closed the door on Ohio State, even if it appears Ohio State has. He said he has not heard anything from Ohio State, which isn't a good sign, especially after word leaked on Twitter on Signing Day that Ohio State was no longer interested in Neal.

Well with OSU pulling out chances look pretty good. I hope that we are at least able to land Neal and have some momentum going into 2013.

Not sure about the rest of you, but I see red flags all over this recruit. Maybe because his dad is so involved, can't put my finger on it. Don't get me wrong, the kid has talent, but I am wondering if perhaps there is some serious baggage or risk if the Cats sign this guy.

Anyone else getting this feeling?

Because his dad is so involved? Many kids that are involved in high level college recruitments should be so lucky.

Ya, if you're 18 and your parents aren't somewhat involved in the biggest decision of your life so far you probably don't have very good parents.

Nope......

Is there a chance that he'd commit during the visit this weekend? I wouldn't mind some publicity when he announces on the 21st, but I would feel better is the staff impressed him enough to be a Wildcat on the 11th.

Word is now that he is not visiting arizona this weekend but we are still in the hunt

Yes, he has some family issues he needs to attend to, so he won't be taking a visit this weekend.

with his buddies coming to arizona and the family stuff you would think it may be best to stay close but you never know. would love to see him stay close and come to arizona

i bet he becomes a Cat. sources say he is staying in state because of Dad!
