Thanks for posting this fresh, IMT! Looking forward to seeing it grow this year and how different it'll look next year AFTER Coach RR and staff have more time to be really working on some kids!!

RR will get better players as he builds the program, but the players that are coming in now are RR style players.
Bluecollar, love the game, under the radar players that RR has a history of winning with.
Yes, in the big easy(east), but he won bowl games as well.
With where we have been, nearly everyone would welcome a 10 win season year in and year out.
With that would come better talent as well.

Already 21 commits, but with some likely to enroll early (and potentially count towards last year's class) there is likely to be a few more than 25 in this class.

As of today Scout.com has us ranked as the #25 recruiting class. Rivals.com has us ranked at #20. No doubt this is due to the number of recruits we have.

I must've missed that big DT from LA - Tony Mekari: 6'3" 260lbs. Guess that was a week ago. Young kid, doesn't look he played real competitive rivals, buy if he has the desire, bring him on! Will be interesting to see what he looks like after a year in the S&C program - also looking for that next Bruschi or whomever.

See he's a pretty smart kid w/great GPA ... doesn't hurt that he's out of LOUSIANA, either. When first saw Westlake, thought it was CA.

I hope Rich Rod focuses on getting better quality players next year. This year (in terms of quality) is a typical Arizona recruiting year.

Solomon had a huge game this weekend and moved Bishop Gorman into the top 25 ESPN Power rankings. Also is on the front page of ESPNHS Football site. Check here if you read this fast enough

Making the biggest jump is Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), which went from unranked to No. 16 after defeating then-No. 7 Good Counsel (Olney, Md.) 27-22 in the ESPN High School Football Kickoff. Bishop Gorman three-star QB Jarrett Solomon, an Arizona commit, accounted for four touchdowns in the win.
Also, ESPN3 has a replay of the game if you're inclined.

Good call Palpa. The team Bishop Gorman beat was considered one of the best in the nation, so definitely an impressive upset by Solomon and Bishop.

**Just saw this now, so sorry for the bump.***

Sorry but I'm gonna have to fight you on that one. Look at the last few years of recruiting for Stoops. At MOST we had two guy ranked by ESPN in the 80's (2008 and 2006). We have about four now, and it is still early in the recruiting season, meaning that a few of our high-70s guys may jump up to the 80's after scouts are able to take a closer look at them (I'd predict Solomon and maybe Stott once things are all said and done.)

Plus, you have to think that both of those years Stoops was well into his tenure here at U of A. At this point RR is recruiting kids equal to the level Stoops did base solely on his name, NEZ, and a good sales pitch. You can't exactly expect the guy to make it rain 4-star kids without ever having coached a down in the desert.

I don't think you have anything to worry about when it comes to recruiting... relax.

    To add to that.
Stoops did nothing special, so he was recruiting players to go head to head with usc
And other programs that were getting 4 & 5 star player, that ran the same style of game
RR runs a unique style of offense and defense, and is not looking for the same type of players
    That everyone else is.
He is getting playerz that fitinto his system first.
We currently have more speed than in previous years, and will be adding much more speed
    In next years class.

Seems like we have two JC transfers coming with the 2013 class: S Gurrola 6-2 280lb OL from Glendale CC and Prince Holloway 5-9 160lb WR from a JC in Florida.

Does ANYONE know if either of these players will be here for the spring semester this year?

Anyone up to date on the early enrollment and who counts for what class? We are plus 1 on the 25 man limit, but I know we have at least 2 early enrollments (Stott and Scroggins?). I know we are on the outside looking in on most of the guys left considering us, but any surprises that may be fun to bet on?

Ya, Tony Gibson is trying to flip them to West Virginia now that he's coaching there. Mario Alford and Brandon Golson are good recruits that could potentially make an immediate impact and get playing time. I would say it's 50/50 whether they stay committed to Arizona or head to West Virginia.

Only problem there is you'd be in West Virginia!
If they go anywhere else, then we don't want 'em!
Coach is getting players that want to play at Arizona - Love to play Football at Arizona.
If they are not committed to Coach Rodriguez and the Arizona Football program, then we don't want 'em. We don't just want any old player - we want WILDCATS!

Pretty much done. The coaching staff has spent a lot of their focus on 2014 recruits lately. If Golson and/or Alford flip that could open up a couple spots. Also Prince Holloway may not end up coming here (may have given up on playing all together) So definitely could change quickly and get more involved on uncommitted players, but as of now there there doesn't appear to be much movement/drama leading up to National Signing Day.

Unfortunately, I think Alford is going to flip his recruitment. Absolutely loved his visit to WVU, is closer to home and wasn't Gibson his original recruiter?
